'Indian F-16s more advanced than Pakistan's'

DALLAS (PTI): American aerospace giant Lockheed Martin has assured India that the F-16s being offered to it would be "much more advanced" than the fighters provided to Pakistan.

"I can assure you, the Super Viper is much more advanced in all aspects than the F-16s being given to Pakistan," Lockheed Martin's Vice President-Business Development (India) Orville Prins told a group of visiting Indian journalists here on Monday.

The assurance comes in the wake of reports that India was concerned over US supplying a new set of F-16s to Pakistan, a decision which could be a crucial geopolitical factor when the Indian Air Force (IAF) decides on the USD 10 billion Medium Multi-role Combat Aircraft (MMRCA) tender, described as 'mother of all deals'.

  1. Even as assurances come from all important quarters of the USA government, we are always hurt by their administration's help to Pakistann over the years. What a failed state Pakistan is, still they are able to beg and recieve huge military aids from USA. It's nothing but USA's strategy to exert control over the sub-continent. India and we citizens need a robust foreign policy to deal with this problematic situation, and also with China. Our current policy is realy pathetic.

  2. India should make it clear to US that if it goes ahead with supplying Pakistan nuclear technology, India will not buy nuclear reactors from USA. It is all commercial guys. USA wants to have the cake and eat it too. They can not play on both the sides of the fences.
